When I first met Naomi and Oli at their local cafe in Bethnal Green, they told me they wanted their wedding to be very low-key; a relaxed affair celebrating their relationship with family and close friends - and London. Having spent their ten years together here, the city is very much a part of their story, and they were keen for that to come across in the photography.
And so a laid-back London wedding it was. The ceremony was held at Camden Town Hall, after which the bride and groom led their guests across London to the reception at The Artisan of Clerkenwell, stopping along the way for a well-deserved pint on the very hot July afternoon. The Artisan is a great choice for a London wedding venue, nestled in a lovely little square surrounded by beautiful architecture, which provided plenty of photo opportunities, as did the stylish interior of the bar. Not only that, but this part of the city is often quite empty on weekends, which means you'll have the place almost to yourself; another big plus for great photographs!
Naomi is a ceramics designer, and her creativity and attention to detail could be seen everywhere on the day, from her choice of beautiful, vintage style dress, and the invitations and menus she designed herself, to the dozens of little jam jars she had collected with the help of friends and family over the preceding months. Together with all of the mouthwatering homemade treats brought by friends and family, it was a joy to photograph.
